Information
The Monticello Fishing Team was formed in 2020. This all-encompassing fishing program balances classroom education and technique development with a boatload of time on the water. Our focus with this team includes multi-species education as well as an option to focus on bass tournament fishing only. We also focus on boater safety/etiquette and utilizing proper equipment to aid in success all while teaching our young anglers how to become stewards of the industry.

The Monticello Fishing Team is a fishing club that is associated with the school. We are NOT a MN state sanctioned sport. The team is run by volunteers who love fishing and enjoy helping kids learn about fishing and getting kids on the water.

The cost to join the team is $200 and this gets you a full year of being a member of the Monticello High School Fishing Team. This includes, but is not limited to:
-
Fishing jersey
-
Discounts
-
Club meetings
-
Contests
-
Year-end banquet

Our season will start with (optional) in-classroom education on Jan. 27th. Meetings will continue weekly (optional) in classroom until we are able to get on the water.
Our season will conclude with an end of the year banquet on July 16th.

Dues for the 2024 season are $200, with a $100 refund after completing 1 volunteer event. Registration will be posted soon

Boat Captains are needed to guide teams of 2 anglers and provide fishing tips and guidance to help students become better anglers. Each week we may focus on a specific technique or have a competition. You do not need a student on the team to be a boat captain, just a love of fishing that you want to help pass on to our students.
